Brooke C. Stoddard is a former writer/editor at Time-Life Books and National Geographic Books. Raised in Ohio and a graduate of Princeton University, he worked among Appalachian poor and as a carpenter before settling into full-time writing. His stories and articles have appeared in The Washington Post, Preservation Magazine, Smithsonian.com, Virginia Living and many other journals. He has served as editor of Military Heritage Magazine. He is author of World in the Balance: The Perilous Months of June-October 1940 and Steel: From Mine to Mill, the Metal that Made America.
He is a member of the Authors Guild, the National Press Club, the Editorial Freelancers Association, and the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
Brooke edits books and serves as a publishing consultant.
